Documentary family photography - simply liberating

I like to ask the following question: What do you want your children to remember in 30 years? What do you never want to forget? It’s the little things in life that will be of great importance. Documentary family photography makes them visible.

1. What is different about your way of taking photos?

I capture your life. No “please smile,” no one has to look at the camera. I accompany you in your everyday life. The photos show real life. That’s what makes them so incredibly valuable for the future. They show the hand that caresses, the sparkle in the eyes when cuddling, and the affection when getting dressed.

2. What do we need to prepare?
You can be completely relaxed, because there are no expectations, no posing, just totally candid photos. Your apartment doesn’t need to be spotless, as that rarely reflects everyday life with children. Choose your clothes however you feel comfortable; matching outfits in blue and white polka dots are rarely realistic.
3. Where do you take photos?
I’m happy to come to your home or your favorite places. It’s important to me that the location has meaning for you. Then the photos will still be of great value to you and your children for many years to come, because they will show you as you truly were.
4. My husband, my children, etc. don't like photos, how is that supposed to work?
I understand the initial hesitation when I, as a photographer, enter unfamiliar homes. But most of my photo sessions feel like visiting friends – not just for me. We don’t stage glossy photos where everyone is beaming against backdrops you have little connection to. In documentary family photography, we capture your moments, and it’s so liberating and relaxed that we can all feel comfortable.
5. When is a good time?

The postpartum period is all about cuddling, pampering, and caring. I capture your magical early days. For all photo shoots: We can discuss in person or by phone what important rituals your family has that we should definitely include. Crafting, cooking together, a bike ride to a secluded spot in the woods, reading aloud on the couch, and spontaneous pillow fights—simply everything that makes you who you are.

Some moments happen only once.
